Pfeiffer Baseball Takes 9-2 Win Over Brevard
Misenheimer, N.C. (March 23, 2019) –The Pfeiffer University baseball team scored seven runs in the fifth inning and limited the visiting Brevard College Tornados to five hits in a 9-2 win on Saturday night at Joe Ferebee Field.
Pfeiffer – 14-4, 8-3 USA South
Brevard – 6-16, 1-12 USA South
With the game tied at 1-1, the Falcons blew open the game by plating seven runs in the fifth inning. Pfeiffer recorded five hits in the inning with Blake Winebarger knocking a two-RBI single to start the scoring. Zach Ferrell then had an RBI single and Bryan Kowalski doubled, driving in one. Mason Striplin had a two-RBI single to wrap up the scoring.
Kowalski singled in Winebarger in the sixth inning, pushing the lead to 9-1. Brevard was able to scratch across a run in the top of the ninth to provide the 9-2 final.
