Both teams were able to score a run in the first inning of the game, but Brevard took the 3-1 lead in the third inning after stringing together three singles. Pfeiffer cut the deficit to 3-2 with a run in the home half of the inning when the Brevard pitcher hit Chaston Gordon with the bases loaded.

Brevard scored again in the top of the ninth to put the pressure on the Falcons.
Down 5-3 entering the bottom of the ninth, Pfeiffer's Bryce Marsh got things going with a double down the right field line.
