Men's Lacrosse Falls in Regular Season Finale to WPU
Misenheimer, N.C. – The Pfeiffer University men's lacrosse team dropped a 20-16 home decision to visiting William Peace University in the regular season finale on Saturday night at Lefko Field

Jared Nelson led all Falcon players, scoring a team-best four goals and dishing six assists. His 10 points on the night tied him for the program leader in points with 275.
Senior John Allen capped his Pfeiffer career by scoring three goals, while teammate Luke Cox also added three goals. Josh Reffey scored twice for the Falcons, as did Treven King. Jacob Leone and Ben Zahorec each had a goal apiece in the loss.
In the first half, neither team could build a substantial lead as they went into halftime tied at 12-12. WPU tied the game as the buzzer sounded at the end of the second quarter to provide the halftime tie.
In the third quarter, WPU scored five unanswered goals to take the 18-13 lead, a lead in which they would not relinquish.
Pfeiffer would open the scoring in the fourth quarter by a goal from Jacob Leone, but WPU responded to push their lead to 19-14. John Allen scored to make it 19-15, but the Pacers scored once more to go up 20-15. Allen would get the final goal of the game with three seconds left on the clock to provide the 20-16 final.
The Falcons have completed their regular season and will await selections for the 2019 ECAC Division III Men's Lacrosse Tournament.
