BREVARD, N.C. -- Pfeiffer's (8-7-1) four-game winning streak was halted on Wednesday night when the Falcons were on the wrong end of a 2-1 decision at Brevard (7-7) at Ives-Lemel Field. Prior to tonight, the Falcons hadn't lost since dropping a 2-1 decision to N.C. Wesleyan on Oct. 14.

The Falcons had the upper hand in terms of shots on the night as Pfeiffer outshot the hosts 16-13 and held a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks. Chris Brown led the Falcons with four shots and the combination of Brown and Caleb Bratager each put two shots on frame.

The Tornados struck first tonight on a goal from Jesse Omezi in the 34th minute. The eventual game-winner came off the foot of Austin Wolfe in the 54th minute on an unassisted strike.

After being outshot 9-7 in the opening frame, Pfeiffer turned the offense up in the final 45 minutes and held a 9-4 advantage. The constant pressure paid off in the 76th minute when senior Darwin Ramirez drew Pfeiffer within one with just under 15 minutes to play. Unfortunately, Pfeiffer couldn't find the equalizer down the stretch and fell to 8-7-1 on the season.

Patrick Hall improved to 4-1 in goal for Brevard, while senior Tomas Correa dropped to 8-6-1 with his four saves.

The Falcons will wrap up the 2017 campaign with a road trip to Milligan on Saturday evening. The match is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
