Winston-Salem, NC – The Pfeiffer University men's and women's track and field teams traveled to the JDL FastTrack in for the JDL DMR Invitational.
On the men's side, Senior Sean Bryant collected two more top ten finishes with a pair of 9th place runs. In the 60m dash, Bryant's time of 7.13 barely missed making the finals by .01 seconds. Bryant's 23.40 in the 200m led the way for the Falcons in that event.
Freshman Kenan Waltower turned in a solid performance with two personal bests on the day. Waltower finished 9th in the 60m Hurdles running a time of 8.63. The time improved from .14 seconds from his previous season best. Waltower came back in the 200m dash to run a 24.00 which was good enough for 14th place.
Other notable performances on the men's side included a top ten finish for Klay Gill in the men's weight throw. Gill's throw of 13.00m (42-8) placed him 8th overall and was a personal best.
On the women's side, sophomore Tiffany Bartholomew had a strong week. On Wednesday Bartholomew set the school record in the pentathlon scoring 1939 pts. The pentathlon consists of a 60m Hurdle race, High Jump, Shot Put, Long Jump and an 800m run. Bartholomew then turned in two personal bests on Saturday. In the 60m dash, Bartholomew just missed qualifying for the ECAC championships by .08 seconds running an 8.38. The time was good for a 13th place finish. She came back later in the 200m dash and ran 29.29 besting her previous record by over a second.
Kylie Spencer broke the school record in the 5000m run. Spencer's time of 19:36.24 was good enough for a 7th place finish.
Up next for the Falcons will be the ECAC Indoor Championships which will take place March 1st and 2nd. The meet will be held at the historic Armory Track and Field in New York City, New York.
