Softball Crushes Six HR in Sweep of Wesleyan

MISENHEIMER, N.C. — The Pfeiffer softball team (7-1) dominated in a sweep of Wesleyan (3-7) on Tuesday afternoon, winning by scores of 16-0 and 14-1 in their first home games of the season.


Vada Blue Sherrill continue her torrid streak, going 4-for-4 with four runs scored. Over four games last weekend, Sherrill was 10-for-14. With her game one performance, Sherrill has gotten hits in 14 of her last 18 at bats.

Stephanie Fortner went 2-for-3 with three runs and four runs batted in. Makenzie Pennell was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with 3 RBIs and Kiana Millsaps crushed a 3-run HR in the first inning and finished with 5 RBIs.

Amanda Sports added a solo home run and Chandler Walker banged out a pair of doubles.

In the cirlce, Millsaps earned her sixth win by firing three no-hit innings. Milsaps allowed just two baserunners on the game before giving way to Kennedy Lester who threw the final two scoreless innings.


The Falcons erupted for 14 more runs in the finale thanks to the long ball.

Sherrill went 2-for-3 with three more runs and five runs batted in. Sherrill crushed a grand slam and a solo home run to extend her hot streak to 16 hits in 21 at bats.

Sports hit another home run and went 3-for-3 with three runs and 2 RBIs. Millsaps crushed a homer and went 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs.

Pfeiffer would bang out 13 hits in game two and Millsaps earned her second win with three scoreless innings.

The Falcons will return to action this weekend when they travel to Greensboro. The Falcons and at the Pride meet on Saturday with first pitch scheduled for 1 p.m.
