DANBURY, CONN. – Pfeiffer shortstop Vada Blue Sherrill and pitcher Kiana Millsaps were announced as the ECAC South Player and Pitcher of the Week respectively the organization announced this afternoon.
In six games last week, Sherrill went 10-for-15 with 10 runs scored, three home runs and 14 runs batted in to lead Pfeiffer University to a 5-1 record. Sherrill was a perfect 6-for-6 in stolen bases and added a 1.333 slugging percentage to go with her .667 batting average and .682 on-base percentage. For Sherrill, this marks her second ECAC South Player of the Week award on the season.
Millsaps posted a perfect 4-0 record on the week and broke the program record for most wins on a season with her 20th victory of the year on Saturday. Millsaps recorded 13 strikeouts in her 13 innings of work and only walked one batter. For the week, the junior posted an ERA of 2.15 in five games and allowed opposing batters to hit just .152.
The Pfeiffer softball team returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Montreat at noon.
