Game 2 – Pfeiffer def. PIU, 22-4 (5 Innings)

How it Happened
In game one, Pfeiffer scored in each of the first three innings, scoring a single run in both the first and second innings, while scoring three in the third.

The first Pfeiffer run came courtesy of a double steal, with Makenzie Pennell stealing second and Vada Blue Sherrill stealing home.  In the second, Hannah Tyner scored on a Bruin error and in the third Kari Westerbeek hit a sacrifice fly that scored Pennell.  Tyner then singled, bringing in Millsaps.  The final Falcon run of the inning was scored via a bases loaded walk.

The Falcons got three more in the sixth to provide the 8-0 score.  Falcon pitcher Kiana Millsaps shut down the Bruins in the bottom half of the inning, allowing just a two-out single before forcing a ground out to end the game.

In game two, PIU jumped ahead 3-0 after the first inning, but  Pfeiffer's Kari Westerbeek connected on a solo home run in the second inning to close the gap to 3-1.  PUI then made it 4-1 in the bottom of the second.

Pfeiffer responded by plating three in the third to knot the game at 4-4.

In the fourth inning, Pfeiffer's offense exploded, scoring 15 runs on 12 hits in the frame to put the game well out of reach.  In the inning, every batter reached base at least once and all but one batter scored in the big inning.

The Falcons pushed three more runs across in the fifth inning to provide the eventual 22-4 final.

In the bottom of the fifth, Kyndle Wallace recorded the first two outs via a strike out and a fly out.  Senior Vada Blue Sherrill entered the circle for the first time in her career, walking the first batter she faced before striking out the PIU batter for the final out of the game.
