MISENHEIMER, N.C. – After tying the record earlier in the season, Molly O'Friel broke the program mark for most goals in a game as the senior poured in 10 in a 24-3 Pfeiffer (7-1) victory over Salem (1-9) on Wednesday night. The win is Pfeiffer's sixth straight victory.
O'Friel tied Ashleigh Kassab, who twice scored nine goals in a game, when she tallied nine goals against Piedmont on Feb. 25. Tonight, O'Friel was unstoppable as the midfielder scored her 10 goals on 15 shots. O'Friel now has 52 goals in just eight games so far this season.
O'Friel added nine draw controls and two assists on the night after being named ECAC South Player of the Week earlier in the day.
Pfeiffer outshot the Spirits 38-6 in the game and held a 19-7 advantage in draw controls.
The Falcons return to action on Saturday as they host Ferrum at 1 p.m. It will be the penultimate home game of the season for the Falcons.
