Women's Soccer Easily Defeats Regent on Homecoming

MISENHEIMER, N.C. -- The Pfeiffer women's soccer team came out with a win on homecoming weekend by a score of 10-0 against Regent University. With the win, the Falcons improve to 4-3 on the season and 2-2 on their home turf. The Falcons outshot Regent 28-0 for the game, posting a record for the least amount of shots allowed in a game. 

The scoring started early, as Gabrielle Ligas hit the back of the net in just the first minute of play. Ligas also had one assist on the game. Just one minute later, Maddie Capel scored the first of her two goals on the day on a cross from fellow freshman Cayci Eaton. The Falcons scored a total of seven goals in the first half.

Cayci Eaton also scored two goals, upping her season total to nine. Other Falcons to score included: Kat Kelley, Gabby Bosak, Taylor Donnally, and Meredith Manson. Goalie Kaley Hyatt improved to 4-3 on the season with the win.

The Falcons will look to extend their current three-game win streak as they travel to Averett next Wednesday. Kickoff is at 6:00.
