FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. -- The Pfeiffer women's soccer team (8-5) continued its hot play with a 3-1 road win at Methodist (4-8) on Wednesday night. The win is Pfeiffer's seventh in their last nine matches and the 240th victory in program history.
Three different Falcons scored on the night but Pfeiffer fell behind early in the contest. In the fifth minute, Sara Snotherly took a feed from teammate Emily Borel to give the Monarchs the 1-0 advantage.
The Falcons countered in the 22nd minute a pair of freshmen hooked up for the equalizer. Maddie Capel found Cayci Eaton for her 12th goal of the season to draw Pfeiffer even. Those 12 goals tie her for the seventh most in a single season in program history. Maggie Walker scored the game-winner in the 37th minute for her third strike of the year.
Senior Tori Jackson clinched the win for Pfeiffer with a penalty kick in the 84th minute. It was the second PK goal for Jackson in her last three matches as she converted against William Peace on Saturday.
Kaley Hyatt earned her eighth win in goal for the Falcons as the sophomore made seven saves.
Next up for Pfeiffer is the home finale on Saturday when Greensboro comes to town for a 5 p.m. match.
