Pfeiffer Women's Soccer Concludes Season With 2-0 Loss at McDaniel

Westminster, Md. (Nov. 17, 2019) –
McDaniel College scored a goal in each half to down the Pfeiffer University women's soccer team 2-0 in the quarterfinals of the ECAC Division III Tournament.

McDaniel went up 1-0 in the 10th minute when Pfeiffer was whistled for a foul inside the box, giving the Green Terror a penalty kick.  McDaniel's Maddie Schwartz converted the kick to lead the Falcons 1-0.

The score would stay the same until the 83rd minute, when McDaniel struck again, this time when off a corner kick, Schwartz played the ball to Megan Henderson who placed it into the net to provide the eventual 2-0 final.

As a team, Pfeiffer managed six shots, with three being on goal. Senior goalkeeper Kaley Hyatt (St. Cloud, Fla.) made eight saves for the Falcons in her final collegiate game.

Senior Haley Metzger (Naples, Fla.) and junior Cayci Eaton (Harrisburg, N.C.) each had a pair of shots in the loss.

Pfeiffer completes their season at 13-5 while McDaniel improves to 15-6 and will host next weekend's ECAC semifinals and championship matches.
