Mary Rhyne Swims to Podium Finish at SunCoast Championships
Orlando, Fla.– Pfeiffer University swimmer Mary Rhyne earned a podium finish as she clocked a 1:21.76 in the 100-yard breaststroke at the SunCoast Championships in Orlando, Fla.
Rhyne, a junior from Lexington, N.C., earned her spot in the finals by racing to a sixth-place finish in the preliminaries with a 1:22.69.
In relay events, Pfeiffer placed seventh and ninth in the 200-yard freestyle race. The team of Tiffany Bartholomew, Samira Wolf, Natalia Gutierrez and Gina Myers returned a 1:47.46 while Ada McClendon, Haley Zoltoski, Rhyne and Kayleigh Hunt finished with a 2:03.99, taking ninth place.
In the 400-yard medley relay, Pfeiffer claimed sixth and seventh place.
Gutierrez, Bartholomew, Myers and Wolf managed a 4:37.59 while McClendon, Rhyne, Zoltoski and Hunt clocked a 5:22.19.
After day two, the Falcons stand in fourth place in the team standings with 274 points.
